The DISTRICT, Inc. is a 501C3 non-profit corporation dedicated to the economic and community revitalization of three historic districts and their contiguous areas in downtown Nashville – Broadway, Second Avenue/Riverfront, and Printer’s Alley, collectively known as the District.  Its programs seek to foster and stimulate growth of a district identity, community spirit, civic pride and unity, to promote the people and businesses in the area, and to retain its historic character.

Specific activities of The DISTRICT include educating the general public on the attractions and accessibility of the area in which the organization operates; helping improve, when necessary, the safety of the area through membership coordination, and discussions with municipal authorities; encouraging design compatibility with historic character; serving as a communications vehicle between governmental agencies and charitable groups which use the area for numerous festivals and events; and providing a common ground for dialogue among property owners, businesses and residents.
